Sydney, 2 September 2019 – Aon (NYSE: AON), the leading global professional services firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement and health solutions, has appointed former Olympian and current Head of Sport, Nick Green as its new Head of Sales for its Global and Corporate client segment.

Green will lead a national team of specialists who will be tasked with driving new business and supporting the national industry practice groups.

Green joined Aon in February 2018 as the head of sport, having previously been the CEO of Cycling Australia. He is an experienced director and leader who has worked across sport, public health and corporate sectors.

He was a member of Australia’s celebrated ‘Oarsome Foursome’ who won rowing gold at the 1992 and 1996 Olympics and lead the Australian Olympic Team at the 2012 London Olympic Games as the Chef de Mission.

Green’s inherent teamwork approach makes him naturally placed to harness and leverage Aon’s unrivalled depth of resources and capabilities across the entire business to provide efficient, cost-effective risk solutions to support clients.

James Baum, CEO said, “Aon is committed to creating a diverse and collaborate workplace that embraces the unique talents, backgrounds and skill-sets of its people. Today’s organisations need experts that can navigate the unique challenges and opportunities presented by the ever changing and often volatile market. Nick’s dedication to a client-first approach comes from a lifetime of drive, discipline and team spirit. I have no doubt that he will continue to utilise these values to create long term and sustainable growth for the business.”

Commenting on his appointment, Nick Green said, “I’m thrilled to be taking on the lead sales role. The industry is experiencing major changes as it adapts and responds to the risks and opportunities of a shifting and dynamic global market.”

Mr Green added, “By identifying and qualifying risks, we can work hand in hand with our clients to build a roadmap of action, whether it be risk mitigation measures for emerging risks or providing a suite of tools or solutions specific to their needs. It is this client-centric, data-led approach that allows Aon to be a trusted partner for our clients.”

Mr Green is based in Aon’s Melbourne office and will retain his role as national practice leader for sport.
