Keynote: Navigating the New Normal

With interest rates finally beginning to fall in many places, the world is entering a new economic phase, and organisations need to adjust to the new normal. Will interest rates fall as fast as they have risen, and how will other parts of the economy, such as currencies and consumer spending, respond? New patterns of connectivity are taking shape around the globe, especially in Asia Pacific, driven by a mix of geopolitics, risk appetite, and emerging industrial value chains. This session will explore the implications for financial flows, trade and investment and look at how Asia’s emerging giants of China, India and Indonesia are positioning to take a role in this new normal. The session will also consider the implications for developed markets in north-east Asia and Oceania.
