Aon Hewitt Submits Comments on Notice 2011-35 (Funding Comparative Clinical Effectiveness Research Through Patient-Centered Outcomes Trust Fund)

On September 6, 2011, Aon Hewitt submitted comments to the Treasury Department (Treasury) and Internal Revenue Service (Service) regarding guidance for implementing Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Affordable Care Act) provisions for funding comparative clinical effectiveness research through a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Trust Fund (Notice 2011-35). The Notice was issued by the Treasury on June 9, 2011.

In the comment letter, Aon Hewitt responds to several questions raised in Notice 2011-35 and also asks for clarification regarding situations where a single plan has insured and self-insured components.
