President Trump Releases Fiscal Year 2021 Budget
On February 10, 2020, President Trump released the Fiscal Year 2021 Budget. Passage of the President’s budget is unlikely, as proposals are typically intended as a framework for discussion. The 2021 budget includes a number of provisions and priorities in the upcoming year and offers insight regarding potential future legislative and/or regulatory actions.

EEOC Releases 2020 Priorities
On February 3, 2020, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) released its 2020 Priorities. According to the EEOC, the 2020 Priorities “are rooted in the EEOC’s mission to ‘Prevent and remedy unlawful employment discrimination and advance equal opportunity for all in the workplace’ and its vision of ‘Respectful and inclusive workplaces with equal employment opportunity for all.’” The five 2020 Priorities listed by the EEOC include:
- Continuing to provide excellent customer service;
- Continuing to provide robust compliance assistance;
- Enhancing efforts to reach vulnerable workers;
- Strategically allocating commission resources; and
- Continuing the EEOC's efforts to be a model workplace.

EEOC Issues Annual Performance Report for FY 2019
On February 10, 2020, the EEOC released its annual performance report for fiscal year (FY) 2019. In the report, the EEOC continued to “prioritize education and outreach and customer service in the public and private sectors during fiscal year 2019, which ended Sept. 30, 2019.”
