Treasury, IRS, Request Public Recommendations for 2023–2024 Priority Guidance Plan
On May 4, 2023, the Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) released an advanced version of Notice 2023-36, which invites public recommendations for items to be included in the 2023–2024 Priority Guidance Plan. The Treasury and IRS use the Priority Guidance Plan each year to identify and prioritize the tax issues that should be addressed through regulations, revenue rulings, revenue procedures, notices, and other published administrative guidance. The 2023–2024 Priority Guidance Plan will identify guidance projects that the Treasury and the IRS intend to actively work on as priorities during the period from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024. Public recommendations for guidance are due by June 9, 2023.
