HHS Announces Prescription Drug Savings as Part of Inflation Reduction Act; Releases Report on Medicare Part B Drug Price Trends
On June 9, 2023, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced a list of 43 prescription drugs for which Medicare Part B beneficiaries’ coinsurances may be lower between July 1 through September 30, 2023, as part of the Inflation Reduction Act. On the same day, HHS also released a report (Medicare Part B Drugs: Trends in Spending and Utilization, 2008-2021), analyzing trends that have driven growth in spending for Medicare Part B drug coverage.
