Congress Adjourns for August Recess, Could Return Early
Both the House and Senate are out for August recess, with the Senate returning to vote the week of September 8 and the House scheduled to return on September 14. However, at the time of this publication Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the House would be returning early to vote on matters related to the U.S. Postal Service, potentially August 22. It is also possible the Senate could reconvene before mid-September, as legislators can be summoned to return within 24 hours’ notice.
