Responsibilities
Brian is based in New York City within Aon Global Power’s U.S. national practice team. He leads the Contingent Outage specialty brokerage practice. Brian also provides specialty risk advisory and insurance syndication to nuclear power plant owners/suppliers/contractors, large infrastructure projects and utility/power clients. Brian also leads the coordination of derivative/parametric solutions for Aon Power clients through Aon Securities where he is an associated person and New York office branch manager.
Experience
Prior to his current role, Brian was based in Hong Kong as Regional Director for Aon’s Construction Power & Infrastructure Practice in Asia from 2008 – 2014. He directed Aon’s specialty risk advisory and insurance syndication services to infrastructure projects and clients, during construction and operation phases, including China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. He was lead risk and insurance advisor for key clients such as Baraka Nuclear Power Project - United Arab Emirates, China General Nuclear Power Corporation – China, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power - South Korea and Shanghai Disney Resort Project – China. He also served as interim Department Head for Aon Hong Kong’s Construction Power Energy Department from 2010 –2011.
Before joining Aon as Phoenix, AZ Head of Office in December 2003, Brian was with Marsh for nearly 10 years. In his last position, he was the Sales Leader for the Phoenix Office. Prior to this, he was an Insurance Consultant in Marsh’s Utility Power Group for 3 years, from 1996 – 1999.
Expertise
Brian’s unique knowledge of construction and power related risk issues stems from his time as an officer in the United States Navy, serving on the construction, testing, and commissioning crews of their newest nuclear submarines. Brian was certified as Engineer by the U.S. Department of Energy (Division of Naval Reactors).
