Aon’s commitment to social impact
At Aon, we believe businesses succeed when the communities they serve and the people they employ flourish. In every region of the world, Aon works to mitigate risk and improve the health and vitality of individuals and communities at large. By thoughtfully leveraging what’s uniquely Aon – our insights, analytics and talented people – we strive to protect and enrich the lives of people and organizations around the world by shaping business decisions for the better.
That’s why our firm-wide community involvement efforts focus on risk, education, health and retirement.
Risk: Reduce volatility and build more resilient communities
Education: Support access to education and workforce readiness
Health: Improve health and wellbeing
Retirement: Promote economic stability for aging populations
Investing in our Communities
Through our financial contributions, volunteer efforts and matching funds, we support nonprofit organizations around the world that align with our social impact pillars.
Together, our Aon foundations and charitable funds in Australia, Brazil, France, India, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States contributed more than USD 10.6M to 880 organizations in 2020.
Global Partnership Spotlight: The Red Cross and the Red Crescent
Each year, our offices provide support to more than 75 different Red Cross/Red Crescent locations around the world. Aon’s Annual Disaster Giving Program, in which Aon provides USD 500,000 to the Red Cross each year, helps ensure Red Cross responders can be on the scene of a disaster at a moment’s notice to provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to people in need. Our colleagues also support regular blood drives at Aon offices. In the past 10 years, we have contributed more than USD 6.6M to the Red Cross.
Employee Giving and Volunteerism
Our colleagues represent the best of Aon by demonstrating a commitment to service that extends beyond our day-to-day business responsibilities. Aligned under our firm’s focus on risk, retirement and health, our colleagues put their passion and expertise to work in responding to the needs of their communities, combining charitable giving and colleague volunteerism to invest in our communities. Each year, Aon employees devote thousands of hours of service to charitable organizations and educational institutions around the world.
In 2020, we introduced a new Volunteer Time Off Day to support colleagues as they volunteered and served their communities. From virtual volunteering to holding fundraising and collection drives, Aon colleagues continued to serve and drive social value in ways they felt most passionate about during a challenging year.
