Aon’s Solar Energy Industry Solutions for SEIA Members
Secure Investments | Enhance Returns
As a SEIA member, Aon is proud to be a preferred provider for wide-ranging tax equity, M&A, and business risk management solutions.
Tax and Transaction Risk Solutions
Tax equity investing, mergers and acquisitions and other market transactions are complex, time-critical, and highly specialized. Tax equity investors and M&A and finance professionals need partners who understand their goals and challenges and bring robust knowledge of deal sourcing, transaction processes, and investment strategies to the table. Aon is that partner.
Aon helps you assess and navigate the following specialty transactional insurance solutions to deliver results that improve business and deal outcomes.
- Tax credit insurance
- Tax opinion insurance for M&A and non-transactional tax risks
- Representations and Warranties insurance for M&A and project acquisitions and sales
- Litigation and contingent risk insurance
Inflation Reduction Act (“IRA”)
Tax credit insurance can similarly protect buyers of tax credits under the new IRA provisions. The IRA contains a number of key tax credit provisions including a ten year tax credit extension, a variety of tax credit adders (i.e., domestic content, energy community, etc.), a PTC option for solar projects, and transferability. While investments in renewable energy projects continue to grow, there is uncertainty around a number of the new key tax credit provisions. Aon can assist by placing tax insurance that brings certainty to a transaction or investment. These tax issues that can be covered under a tax insurance policy include the tax credit adders and transferability risks.
