Case Study: ILS/Collateralized – EMEA - Life
Background
Our client, a European domiciled Life Insurer, was looking for additional finance and partnered with an existing client of Aon as transaction manager, to raise additional funding from the capital markets.
Approach
White Rock’s independence and integrity makes its platforms the ideal solution for collaboration between the insurance and capital markets. On the back of the strength of Aon’s relationship with the transaction manager and their reputation, having been involved in the first transaction of its type, White Rock were contacted and were able to provide a solution through the use of their incorporated cell company structure. An incorporated cell was recommended as a transformer vehicle, the cell issued loan notes paying a coupon to investors.
Results
Without the use of an independent vehicle such as White Rock, the transaction could not happen. The White Rock team worked tirelessly to help structure and complete a complex financing and the team’s competence and experience formed a key part of the investor prospectus, giving high profile investors the confidence to invest in the loan note issuance. Aon’s relationship with local regulators, bankers and legal firms helped ensure that a tight deadline was met and all parties to the transaction were satisfied.
