LONDON, 14 September 2020 – Aon plc (NYSE: AON), a leading global professional services firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement and health solutions, has announced the promotion of six new UK-based partners to its global business.
The new partners are:
Tony Britton
Tony Britton leads the strategy for the Aon UK Defined Contribution (DC) Product suite, including the Aon MasterTrust. With nearly 35 years’ industry experience, Tony joined Aon in 2016 from Scottish Widows where he held a variety of roles. Tony has played a central role in bringing new DC offerings to market and also in leading a number of strategic projects.
Trevor Brooks
Trevor Brooks is a strategic partner to US, UK and Eurozone businesses which sponsor UK defined benefit (DB) pension schemes. He works with companies across many different sectors, and from SMEs through to some of the world’s largest multinationals – with pension schemes ranging in size from less than £5 million to more than £5 billion. Trevor leads Aon’s UK Accounting Strategy Team which is dedicated to achieving better accounting outcomes for sponsors of DB pension schemes.
John Foster
John Foster works with a portfolio of large trustee and corporate clients on all aspects of designing, implementing and running their DC plans, including plans with more than 10,000 members and more than £1 billion in assets. His clients encompass both consulting and delegated delivery models. John also leads the development of Aon’s DC client relationships and is involved in Aon’s innovation across strategy, investment, governance and financial wellbeing.
Alastair McIntosh
Alastair McIntosh joined Aon in 2006 and qualified as an actuary in 2010. He works on a wide range of clients, including schemes with assets of more than £10 billion. He is the scheme actuary to three schemes and acts as the alternate actuary on seven other schemes and across five different sponsoring employers. He leads the UK element of Aon’s Global Pension Risk Survey and works with Aon’s Risk Settlement Group on longevity swap projects with a focus on post-implementation support.
Doug Steevens
Doug Steevens is head of EMEA Portfolio Management within the delegated investment team, leading on Aon’s largest and most complex delegated client accounts. He manages or oversees all Aon’s EMEA bond funds and is the lead portfolio manager for the Managed Growth fund. Doug plays a significant role in new product design and development.
Paul Whelan
Paul Whelan joined Aon in 2012 after more than 10 years in asset management. He is now co-head of Global Fixed Income Manager research at Aon, a member of Aon’s UK Fixed Income Views team and is responsible for covering the full spectrum of fixed income asset classes. Paul works closely with Aon's global fiduciary business in shaping fixed income solutions, covering liability hedging and return seeking opportunities. Paul is a member of the UK Investment Leadership Team and represents the UK manager research team on Aon’s UK Content Committee which helps drive the creation and marketing of innovative new ideas.
