Managing Mental Health in a COVID World

Understand the true impact of the pandemic on employees' mental health based on a recent study involving more than 6,000 Australians.

Hosted by Mario Machado, Aon’s national practice leader for Mental Health and Work Health & Safety, this event will bring leading experts together to discuss insights from Aon's recent experience supporting clients around Australia, as well as the latest mental health data and what leaders can do to support employees.

Revealing the data from extensive COVID-19 research, Dr Jill Newby from the Black Dog Institute and UNSW will also present her research on digital mental health solutions, which are more relevant than ever as social distancing measures drive demand for support tools.

Graeme Cowan, mental health advocate, Director of R U OK?, resilience expert and author of “Back from the Brink” will also join us to explain what organisations need to do to support employees. How to prevent and treat work-related fatigue, stress and other mental health symptoms that lead to poor decision-making, reduced innovation and other impacts. Graeme has worked with some of the world’s best-known organisations and believes that caring teams perform better.

You will learn:

- How the pandemic is affecting employees
- How to identify and address systemic causes of work-related mental distress
- How to create a workplace where employees can flourish
- What needs to be done to make unhealthy workplaces mentally healthy
- Who is responsible for making changes in the workplace
