Applications open for the 2018 Aon Benfield Scholarship
Sydney, 15 March, 2018 – The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and Aon Benfield are pleased to announce submissions are open for the 2018 Aon Benfield Scholarship.
Recognising outstanding insurance and reinsurance professionals in the Australian and New Zealand Insurance Industry, the scholarship offers the opportunity to travel to London to develop advanced skills and exchange knowledge of the international reinsurance market.
Aimed to strengthen links between Australian and New Zealand insurance professionals and their international counterparts, the scholarship winner will travel to London to attend the 53rd annual Aon Benfield Global Clients Reinsurance Seminar from 10 September 2018 – 20 September 2018
‘With an opportunity to explore, analyse and discuss issues significant to our industry, the scholarship provides insurance professionals the opportunity to help navigate our industry and inspire and evoke possible change. This year’s topic will create excellent discussion and debate and I look forward to seeing what the submissions have to offer to the industry,’ says Robert De Souza, President APAC and CEO at Aon Benfield Australia and New Zealand.
This scholarship offers insurance professionals a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend the Aon Benfield Global Clients Reinsurance Seminar were they will have the opportunity to continue their development, build their international business networks and increase their industry knowledge,’ says Prue Willsford, CEO at ANZIIF.
Applications are open to Australian and New Zealand permanent residents or citizens, who are currently residing in Australia or New Zealand and have at least two years’ experience working in insurance or reinsurance.
To apply for the scholarship, applicants are required to write a 2,500 word essay discussing the following:
You are the future of reinsurance. With that in mind, what opportunity do you see for the extremely well capitalised(re)insurance industry to close the protection gap by better utilising excess capital (from either traditional or third party providers)? Who has the bigger role to play in closing the protection gap – Government, Insurers, Reinsurers?
Applications close 5.00pm (AEST) on Thursday 7 June with the winner announced on Tuesday 30 August.
