Aon’s leading One Underwriting business announces new appointments

Sydney, 14 March, 2018 – Aon has appointed Adam Cox as the new Director of One Underwriting to lead Aon’s expanding managing general agent business, with former One Underwriting Director, Alison Smith, moving into Aon’s broking area, appointed as the new Regional Director, Southern and Western - Commercial.

The new appointments complement Aon’s established operational expertise and its ambitious and strategic growth agenda. Cox will lead a specialist national team of 30 underwriters, collectively holding over 200 years of experience, to expand and leverage Aon’s global capabilities locally.

Cox joins One Underwriting after eight years with Swiss Reinsurance Company Limited where he was most recently responsible for leading ANZ business strategy as Country Manager, Corporate Solutions.

Commenting on his new role, Cox said he was looking forward to leading the growth of Aon’s distribution footprint in Australia through expansion of its third-party broker network.

Alison Smith, who has led One Underwriting since its launch in January 2016, will now head up Aon’s client engagement for its mid-market and SME clients in Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia as Regional Director.
