The Legal & Claims practice within the Financial Services Group at Aon discusses several cases of interest in executive liability and insurance in the latest edition of the Legal & Claims Quarterly Review.

As the year concluded we saw the first Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) trial with a substantial verdict against the defendant and continued activity in the ESG area.

We summarize several notable cases involving the claim definition of the policy as well as how claims may be interrelated, which in some cases has served to negate coverage. We also highlight several cases interpreting the notice provisions of the policy. And we report on the resolution of a securities class action related to a cyber incident.
