Work Injury Compensation Act
Under the Work Injury Compensation Act (WICA), all employees and their families are entitled to claim compensation against the employer as a result of injuries, contracting occupational diseases and/or death sustained at the workplace.

- Maintaining on-going and regular communication with the Supervisor / Return to work (RTW) Coordinator to ensure all necessary parties are actively involved in decision making regarding return to work planning and rehabilitation
- Allowing an Employer representative or Rehabilitation supervisor to accompany a worker to the medical consultation2
- Responding to requests for written reports in a timely manner
- Reducing low value administrative tasks through automation
1 This will include written and/or telephone advice as requested and by utilising the medical certificate as an effective injury management communication tool.
2 This will usually be done by seeing the worker alone first and then meeting with the employee and employer after the consult. However with the consent of the employee this may at times be done simultaneously.
