Our program is open to all types of counsellors, including psychotherapists, mental health counsellors and career development practitioners, to name a few.
The counselling practice demands personal interaction with people on a daily basis. As a counsellor, you regularly face situations where you are open to the possibility of lawsuits & significant defence costs. Your clients can hold you responsible for negligence or mistakes arising from the performance of your counselling services.

Clarification of insurance terms
Professional liability - Protects you against allegations/liability for damages resulting from a negligent act, error, omission or malpractice arising out of your profession as a counsellor. Claims made policy form.
Commercial general liability - Covers your legal liability to a third party imposed by law for bodily injury and/or property damage arising from your premises or your business operations. Occurrence policy form.
Legal entity - Provides coverage if your registered business, company or separate entity, under which you operate is named in a lawsuit. Coverage limits are shared between you and your entity name. (Addition of the legal entity does not increase the limit of coverage provided under the policy).
