Jay Desjardins
Fiduciary Liability / D&O
Jay is the Fiduciary Liability Practice Leader and Deputy D&O Practice Leader within the Financial Services Group at Aon. Jay is involved in the negotiation and placement of complex fiduciary liability and D&O programs, assists the Legal & Claims team in resolving complex claim disputes and monitors ERISA and securities litigation, settlements, statistics, and regulatory changes. He negotiates with leading insurance markets to develop standard Aon endorsements to the base policy forms. Jay also educates diverse internal and client audiences regarding trends in Fiduciary Liability and D&O legal and claims activity, as well as the parameters of fiduciary liability and D&O insurance coverage.
Prior to joining Aon, Jay was both in-house and outside legal counsel, including serving as an associate general counsel for a leading manufacturer of leading producer of organic chemicals, synthetic fibres, and pharmaceuticals. Jay was also responsible for civil trial and related work in the areas of product liability, commercial litigation, insurance coverage disputes, labor and employment in the Litigation Department of a global law firm.
