Pass It On - 13 January 2012
Singapore was the first stop in Asia for Aon’s employee and client engagement initiative – “Pass it On”. On January 13th, 2012, Aon in Singapore organised a fun fair and a futsal tournament with Boy’s Town and Muhammadiyah Welfare Home, both of which are charitable homes for under-privileged boys. All proceeds from purchase of the fun fair coupons went directly to the two charities and Aon in Singapore matched every dollar raised from the sales.
The eight-month programme was official kicked off on 24 October 2011 at Old Trafford at half time of the derby between Manchester United and Manchester City. Aon is the principal partner and global shirt sponsor of Manchester United.
For the Asia leg, the footballs passed through 11 countries and 18 cities across the region before making its way to London for a global charity event in June. As the balls pass through each office, Aon colleagues celebrate the firm’s commitment to the communities it serves by organising local charitable activities and client events.
"The funds raised will go towards supporting the education programme for the boys. They receive twice-weekly tuition to coach them in their studies, especially in their weak subjects. We feel this will serve their needs very well."
