On 19 August 2016, Aon Singapore organised the Singapore office’s very first Amazing Race attended by close to 200 participants from the Aon Risk Solutions Singapore Team.
It was certainly a special Friday afternoon where many Aon staff left the confines of the office at SGX Centre 1 to compete in teambuilding games and activities while answering quizzes about Singapore and the Aon Brand.
The Amazing Race Event displayed how Aon combines strengths from a diverse pool of talents to form unmatched team that are competitive and solutions driven.
All these took place within the Central Business District (CBD) area within the space of an afternoon. Each team would have to complete stations in treasure hunts much like the popular reality TV show, ‘The Amazing Race’.
Being the first time it was held in Singapore, it was definitely a unique experience in many ways for all our staff who would surely have grown a lot closer and forged bonds of friendship over this uniquely ‘Aon’ afternoon.
“This is definitely a good chance for me to work with different teams in an environment that is different from the office or the meeting room. I feel that I have made friends that will definitely help me in my projects to come,” shared a staff from the ARS Property & Casualty department.
“The teams are very diversified. My team included new hires all the way to senior management. This enabled us to know each other better and have more conversations in understanding one and another’s work,” shared another colleague from the ARS Health & Benefits department.
The event was organised with the assistance of team-building team Jambar and it ended on a good note where everyone ate together as a huge Aon Family. After all, a family that eats together & has fun together, stays together. And that, in essence, is exactly what Aon in Gaelic truly means -- ‘Oneness’.
