Aon is extremely honoured to be the organiser of the Singapore Venture Capitalist Association (SVCA)'s New Year Networking Nite.
Held on 21 January evening, and at the Berry Bros & Rudd’s exclusive Wine Tasting Room, this event is an initiative of both Aon Singapore and the SVCA.
Mr Anupam Khaitan, SVCA Committee member and also Principal of Symphony Asia Holdings, gave the opening address to the event. Mr Murray Wood (Regional Head of Financial Specialties - Asia) also gave a warm welcome to all the guests and members of SVCA. He also provided comprehensive introduction of Aon, our specialities and our thought-leadership in the field of Risk Management.
All in all, Aon Singapore achieved a good turnout where more than 60 guests from outstanding corporate entities from the fund management and venture capitalist sectors to enjoy some of the finest red and white vintages France has to offer. Some wines brought out for sampling include Champagne Thiénot (2005), Meursault Les Narvaux, an ambrosaic white burgundy from Chateau Lafon (2011) and the astounding Bordeaux, St Estèphe from Chateau Montrose (1995).
As a side note: Berry Bros. & Rudd is Britain's oldest wine and spirit merchant, having traded from the same shop since 1698 and is also one of the few wine merchants appointed to serve the royal family.
Mr Mike Ang (Director, Head of Financial Services & Professions Group, ARS Singapore) has shared that this event has helped build up a rapport with SVCA, and put forth the Aon Brand and presence as a thought-leader, to venture capitalists, law firms and finance professionals.
Our guests were undoubtedly impressed by the exquisite wine selection, the central location, the erudite wine specialists who provided one-on-one explanation of each vintage, and the celebration of the new year.
“I believe our business teams have had a great chance to meet with many practitioners in this sector to forge, what will prove to be, new professional relationships that will definitely last for many years to come,” Mike concludes.
