Public Advisory on fraudulent sites impersonating Aon Consulting Private Limited
- Fraudulent sites impersonating Aon are being circulated to obtain money and/or personal details from the recipients.
- Individuals are targeted via email, YouTube, Google Play Store and WhatsApp Messages.
- Aon has reached out to YouTube and Google Play Store informing them of these fraudulent sites.
Aon Consulting Private Limited (Aon) has been made aware of certain computer/mobile applications, being circulated via various media including e-mail, YouTube videos, short message services (SMS) messages, and WhatsApp, referring to opportunities of making money by engaging with these computer/mobile applications.
These websites, computer/mobile applications, messages (SMS, and/or email), and WhatsApp, falsely state, represent and/or seek to pass-off that they are approved, connected, authorised or issued by, or in association with Aon. These scams, which may seek to obtain money and/or in many cases personal details from the recipients of such correspondence, are fraudulent.
Aon wishes to warn the public at large about these fraudulent activities being perpetrated purportedly in the name of Aon, through different fraud schemes. Aon does not offer prizes, awards, funds, certificates or conduct lotteries.
Aon has already reached out to YouTube and Google Play Store, though its legal team, informing them of these fraudulent activities.
Aon strongly recommends that the recipients of such messages as described above, exercise extreme caution in respect of such solicitations. Financial loss and identity theft could result from the transfer of money or personal information to those issuing such fraudulent correspondence. Victims of such scams may also report them to their local law enforcement authorities for appropriate action.
Aon shall not be liable for any loss occasioned to any individual engaging with these unapproved sites/ computer/mobile applications, which will be at the individuals own risk and cost.
