Health Insurance Exchange for Employers in Puerto Rico

We are less than a year away of implementing changes to Puerto Rico’s Healthcare Reform. There is a lot of uncertainty about the process, particularly as to what this means for employers and its employees, as well as to which penalties would apply to Puerto Rico. The increasing healthcare costs, combined with the employees’ health decay, are forcing employers to consider other options. The Healthcare Reform allows employers to select, from several options, the type of coverage they can offer their employees and to the employees’ dependents.

Corporate Exchange programs are an option gaining popularity in the United States, and are also a good alternative to implement in Puerto Rico.
