Nov 03, 2021 | Aon

As we begin to plan for 2022, many of us are getting excited and dreaming big when it comes to bucket-list vacations. In fact, a new travel survey from AAA shows nearly one in five American adults are planning to travel internationally before the end of next year. Maybe you’re looking to make up for lost time or you’ve been saving money during the pandemic. Whatever the reason – it’s never too late to plan the trip of a lifetime. So, what are you waiting for?! Here are five international experiences that are sure to inspire your travel bug:

Stay in a Water Bungalow Above Sparkling Turquoise Waters
Ellaidhoo, The Maldives
Nestled in the Indian Ocean, the Maldives are comprised of 1,192 islands that span across the equator. The country is widely recognized for its crystal-clear, aquamarine-colored water, pristine white sand beaches and vibrant underwater ecosystem – making it the quintessence of luxury and relaxation. The best way to experience its grandeur is to stay in a beautiful above-water villa. The bungalows often have a discreet opening to a private peach, which provides unmatched intimacy and exclusivity.

Relax in the Warm Geothermal Waters in Iceland’s Blue Lagoon
Grindavík, Iceland
Blue Lagoon is considered one of the 25 wonders of the world. Located in a human-made lava field in southwestern Iceland, the majestic outdoor spa provides a unique opportunity to dip into milky blue waters and relax your mind, body and soul. During the year, the lagoon is kept at about 99 to 102 degrees Fahrenheit. People who visit claim the mineral-rich waters have healing properties, making it a popular stop for travelers from around the world.

Immerse Yourself with the Sights and Sounds of the Serengeti
Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
If you’ve dreamt of observing wild animals in their natural habitat or watching the sun set over the Serengeti, look no further than a safari excursion through northern Tanzania. Many tours include stays at lavish lodges and tented camps that are scattered throughout the highlands in the heart of Africa. Along your journey, you’ll be able to explore the vast wildlife, try local gourmet food and witness the breathtaking landscape that includes tropical rainforests, mountains and grasslands.

Cruise along the Amalfi Coast on a Private Boat Tour
Positano, Italy
A treasure of southern Italy’s famous Amalfi Coast, Positano is a picturesque village best known for its pebble beaches, winding roads and charming local restaurants and boutiques. While there are many things to do around town, tourists often flock to adventures by the Tyrrhenian Sea. Private boat tours offer magical views of the colorful coastline and rocky cliffside that sprawl as far as the eye can see. You can take a dip in the bright emerald waters or cruise through stunning caves along the shore.

Ski Down World-Famous Swiss Alps
St. Moritz, Switzerland
Known as one the finest winter sports destinations in the entire world, St. Moritz is a hotbed for skiing. The village has hosted two Winter Olympics and five World Championships, so it’s not surprising that celebrities, billionaires and even royal family members frequent its lavish lodges and resorts. Positioned in the center of the Swiss Alps, the storied town is home to a whopping 87 slopes and provides world-class descents for skiers of all ages and abilities.
