Stopgap – A little bit of pension love can go a long way
Stopgap are a small business with just over 40 employees, based in Greater London, they specialise in recruitment - placing great people in great marketing roles. They were the first recruitment team to focus on the diverse and dynamic world of marketing, creative and digital.
The challenge
Stopgap hadn't conducted a pension review in years and wanted to ensure that the best terms were in place for their organisation and staff.
They also wanted to improve employee engagement around pensions and ensure that they could help people with their financial planning.
How did Aon help?
Aon conducted a pension review to understand and provide recommendations on the best option for Stopgap and its employees. They also suggested hosting financial education sessions with employees to help engage staff with their pensions and support their journey with financial planning – this was successfully implemented.
The outcome
The pension review and financial education sessions:
- Made staff feel that as a company, Stopgap care about how their pension is performing and they also felt more in control of their own pension and what to do with it.
- In the short term, it empowered people and there was an uplift in staff engagement.
- Long term it highlighted to Stopgap the need and benefits of conducting pension reviews.
