Specialists in the Legal Sector
Providing specialist benefits insight, research and guidance for law firms.
As employee benefits advisers to more than 180 law firms in the UK, we have a dedicated benefits legal sector practice to support our law firm clients, which include Legal 100, national and regional firms, and US firms with UK offices. We run regular roundtable discussions and focus groups to promote valuable conversation and networking amongst HR and benefit professionals in the law sector. Our aim is to bring together industry leaders to tackle some of the most pressing challenges – which is why we also conduct legal sector specific research, to provide resources for data-led benefits strategy.
The Aon Legal Sector Team provides specialist support to UK law firms, US law firms with UK offices, and legal service organisations.

Roundtable Lunches for Senior HR / Benefits Professionals in Law Firms
HR and Benefit leaders deal with the challenges of employee engagement, changing legislation and employee benefits day in, day out. Our roundtables are about providing the opportunity to come together with other benefit and reward leaders in law firms for discussion on what really matters to you, away from the desk and all the distractions of the office.
As well as roundtables for UK firms, there are dedicated roundtables for US firms, as we recognise the unique challenges of running UK offices within a US-based business. Here in the UK we already work with 40 of the AmLaw top 100 firms (2018 AmLaw 100), supporting benefits strategy and provision.
Under Chatham House Rule we encourage lively, honest and completely confidential debate at all of our roundtables, and we know our clients appreciate the opportunity to share openly with their industry peers. A few comments from attendees:
“Excellent roundtable discussion on an interesting range of subjects”
“I like the general nature of the discussions and to hear peer views”
“I appreciated that the small size of the group made it easier for conversation”
The agenda is set by you, and we provide lunch as well as a valuable chance to network.

Our Employee Benefits Focus Group, run in conjunction with HR in Law, is a way for legal sector HR and benefit professionals to stay on top of the most relevant issues, to help make the best choices for their team and their business.
The Focus Group is made up of HR leaders from UK law firms which are HR in Law members. We meet quarterly for an informal lunch and discussion, occasionally with a guest speaker. Want to join? Email us at [email protected].
Partnering with HR in Law
We’re delighted to work with HR in Law, the network for human resources professionals in the legal sector, to bring sector-specific research and insight to our law firm clients.
EMPLOYEE BENEFITS SURVEY FOR THE LEGAL SECTOR
‘HR in Law regards the Employee Benefits Survey to be an essential part of the tool kit to benchmark benefits strategy.’ - Rob Hind, Chairman and Director HR in Law.
The biennial Employee Benefits Survey takes a comprehensive view of benefits provision in the legal sector, across all areas of health and wellbeing, financial education, pensions, voluntary benefits, agile working and more.
The survey has been running with HR in Law since 2009. We break down the data to give you specific details on how both UK firms and US firms with UK offices are handling their benefits.
Our research findings help us to understand the industry and generate valuable benchmarking, allowing firms to measure the competitiveness of their benefits and identify trends in what is offered to both professional and support staff. The data is also valuable in helping firms to shape and develop their benefit programmes.
